All
school children, teachers and parents assembled at the front of the school to
partake in this memorable event.
We
sang Amhran na bhFiann and Óró, sé do bheatha ‘bhaile.
Some
children told us about the meaning of the songs, the story behind the Irish
Flag, excerpts from the new Proclamations created
by each class and what the commemoration of the Proclamation meant for all of
us.
A
number of children along with Mrs. Lawson raised our national Flag and we sang Amhran
na bhFiann.
It
was a very special event to commemorate the 1916 rising.
